Crown Paints Supports The Sanctuary

Crown Paints Supports The Sanctuary! After three years in development, donations of skills and materials – as well as the creation of a bespoke colour scheme – a mental health charity has launched a new facility, which was officially opened by Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine.

Crown Paints Support The SanctuaryCrown Paints and MITIE joined forces to transform rooms at The Sanctuary, an overnight centre offering mental health provision, run by charity Self Help Services in Manchester.

The project comprises a calming room, meeting room and office. It is based at the Kath Locke Big Life Centre in Moss Lane, part of The Big Life Group (BLG), which produces The Big Issue in the North.

Crown Paints and MITIE donated skills, expertise and products to deliver a paint scheme offering durability and longevity, whilst creating a soothing and welcoming atmosphere.

Jennie McAlpine, known to millions of viewers as Coronation Street ’s Fiz, is a well-known supporter of mental health charities in the Manchester area along with her father who recently received an OBE for his work in mental health.

When opening The Sanctuary, she said: “It’s nice to see Crown Paints and MITIE support The Sanctuary. I think they’ve done an excellent job and been very supportive.”

The paint scheme was created by Crown Paints’ Colour Service expert Kathryn Lloyd, who chose shades of pale grey and tropical blues with a flash of warm orange, using Crown Trade Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt range and interior acrylic gloss throughout.
