A painter and decorator is extending its reach with a new tracked aerial lift.
Jane Brooks Decorators, based in Launceston, Cornwall, has used tracked boom lifts for several years, having owned and operated a 15m model for some time. The company wanted a platform with more outreach that it could still transport to sites on a 3.5t trailer. It has purchased a new Hinowa 23.12 Performance IIIS from Access Platform Sales (APS) and the machine is now working on housing estates for major construction contractors such as Barratt and Persimmon.
Owner Jane Brooks said: “Outreach was increasingly becoming a challenge with our 15m machine when working on larger properties. The Hinowa 23.12 is extremely easy to use and it provides us with double the outreach of our old platform. However it is still very compact so can pass down the sides of properties and through gates and doorways.”
Jonathan Wiseman, Area Sales Manager for APS, said: “I am delighted to have been able to supply Phil and Jane with this machine. They had looked at several manufacturers, but Phil was very clear that maximum outreach possible was crucial, yet still being able to tow behind a 4×4 vehicle. We did some trials with another customer’s machine in Bath, and the Hinowa 23.12 seemed perfect for their requirements – Phil did not really need the full height, but the outreach was fantastic for them.”
The Hinowa Lightlift 23.12 IIIs articulated boom offers a maximum working height of 23.2m as well as up to 11.4m of horizontal outreach. As a tracked boom it has very low ground pressure and excellent rough terrain capabilities. Jane Brooks’ machine has non-marking tracks for interior work and is powered by a petrol engine or 230V mains electric.
Additional standard features include auto-levelling and retracting stabilisers, intuitive boom controls, full on-board diagnostics and the ability to remotely monitor machine status or diagnose faults.
