Dulux on Track

Dulux Trade paints have been used as part of The Quadrant:MK – Network Rail’s national centre in Milton Keynes. A range of interior and exterior coatings were specified throughout the 400,000 square foot BREEAM ‘excellent’ building which is home to 3,000 staff.

For internal substrates, Dulux Trade Diamond Matt was specified due to its high levels of durability and extended maintenance cycles.

“Sustainability was paramount on the project, but we also weren’t prepared to compromise on quality and ensuring a high standard of finish long term,” said Laurence Orsini, executive associate of interior design for GMW architects,. “By opting for a durable range of coatings, we can be confident that the surfaces will withstand day-to-day pressures, and because they have a long maintenance cycle, there’s no need for frequent redecoration which naturally has a positive impact on the environmental performance going forward.”

Dulux Trade paints have been used as part of The Quadrant:MKWhen it came to the external paint work, there were additional factors to consider and specialist Dulux Trade exterior paints were used to meet the requirements of potentially challenging areas.

Andy Goodridge, of D&A Decorations, the firm contracted to do the painting and decorating work, said: “For the roof and metal pipe work, we used Dulux Trade Metalshield due its corrosion protection which gives excellent longevity. Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth Masonry paint was used on the multi-storey car park and was perfect for this area because of its anti-carbonation qualities that limit the effect of CO2 pollution on the paint.
