Dulux Academy has opened a dedicated state-of-the-art training space at Leeds College of Building to continue its support of decorating professionals in Yorkshire.
Leeds College of Building is the only college in the UK dedicated to construction and the built environment and has been working alongside the Dulux Academy since 2016.
The new facility comes as the college has relocated its painting and decorating department to its North Street campus as part of a major redevelopment plan. Previously, the Dulux Academy training sessions were hosted on the site in existing facilities, but the new space is the first dedicated area for students to attend Dulux Academy courses – the first of which will be an Introduction to Spray in July.
Training spaces across the site are being extended to accommodate the ambitious growth plans of the College, with other partners including Bell Group, one of the largest painting, decorating and building maintenance contractors in the UK.
The Dulux Academy donated Dulux Trade products for the college students to decorate the space as part of their training.
As part of its ongoing commitment, the Dulux Academy is also set to invest further funds to allow for the full prospectus of Dulux Academy courses to be delivered in the new facility.
Vickie Mather, Dulux Academy Lead, commented: “The Academy was founded in order to help professional decorators to skill up, especially in areas where emerging trends require professionals to stay ahead of the curve.
The new site will also be open to students and Leeds College of Building tutors to undertake continuing professional development courses.
