Johnstone’s Photo Competition Win
A decorator is celebrating after snapping up the top prize in a photo competition run by Johnstone’s Decorating Centres throughout the summer.
Denby Murgatroyd, of Denby’s Gardens in Morecambe, was presented with a cheque for £2,000 to spend on his dream holiday after grabbing the judges’ attention with his eye-catching photo.
To take part in the exclusive competition, customers were asked to submit a photo of themselves proudly wearing a Johnstone’s T-shirt and standing in front of a famous landmark while on holiday over the summer, whether at home or abroad. Scores of images were submitted, giving the judges plenty to mull over once the competition came to a close. But the winning photo of Denby, in his home town of Morecambe, mimicking the town’s famous Eric Morecambe statue on the seafront, stood out thanks to its fun composition.
As well as receiving a cheque for £2,000 towards his dream holiday, Mr Murgatroyd was presented with a framed copy of his winning photo at his local Johnstone’s Decorating Centre in Morecambe.
A thrilled Denby said: “I couldn’t believe it when I got the call to say that I’d won. I never in a million years thought my photo would win but I’m absolutely delighted the judges were won over by Morecambe! The photo is going to take pride of place at home and I can’t wait to start planning my next big holiday thanks to Johnstone’s.”
