A variety of finishes from Crown Paints are delivering a classic look with a modern, contemporary twist at a luxury aparthotel in York.

Created on the site of a former factory, The Lawrance offers ‘ boutique hotel living ‘ in luxury serviced apartments.

In-keeping with The Lawrance’s modern heritage style, Crown Trade Matt Vinyl and Macpherson Trade Vinyl Matt have been used to deliver a durable finish that brings out the building’s historic features, in areas including the ceilings and walls of the 14 luxury suites, as well as the reception area and café.

Doors and windows have also been protected with Crown Trade Eggshell, and for the exterior, Sandtex Trade Smooth Masonry paint has been used on the walls around the staff car park.

North Yorkshire construction company LaRock, based in Knaresborough, carried out the refurbishment project and the decorating work was carried out by GME Painting Contractors Ltd.

Gavin Esberger is a director of GME Painting Contractors, based in Ossett, near Wakefield. He said: “We use Crown Paints products a lot and find that they give the best finish – and when you find something that works, you stick to it.

“All the paints used are of the highest quality and are very easy to apply.”

Ian Fisher Crown Paints’ Contractor Sales Manager for the central region, said: “The matt finish works well with the historic features of the hotel and the colours applied complement The Lawrence’s striking design, ensuring a sophisticated and classic look.

“It has created a beautiful matt finish, which is available in a wide range of colours.”
