Valspar Trade Aims High
Valspar Trade plans to significantly increase its share of the UK trade paints market with the launch of a wide range of new and improved products.
The move is backed up by corresponding investment in a dedicated technical support team to aid the professional decorator, improved point sale material across the B&Q TradePoint network (through which the range is exclusively available) online and in print trade advertising and a return to the National Painting and decorating Show in November.
In addition to the new line of products, Valspar Trade’s full range has also undergone a re-vamp in terms of packaging. This new look is designed to be more vibrant and allow for easy identification in store.
All products have undergone a series of rigorous ISO tests and, say Valspar, are proven to perform well in key areas such as application and splatter, coverage, scrubbability, stain resistance and overall appearance.
New Exterior Range
Masonry Smooth incorporates SeasonFlex technology means it can be applied in temperatures as low as 2°C, helping to extend the painting season into the colder months. It’s showerproof after just 30 minutes and is weather and dirt resistant. Sprayable straight from the can, it’s suitable for larger projects. It’s available in 5L and 10L, in ready mixed and tintable colours.
Exterior Direct to Wood & Metal paint has been developed for external applications. As well as being able to be applied direct to rust without the need for a primer, it can be used on bare or previously painted wood, cast iron, galvanised steel, aluminium, or stainless steel. It is quick drying, showerproof in 30 minutes and is available in three different sheens; Gloss (1L Pure Brilliant White) and Eggshell and Satin (1L and 2.5L tinted colour cans).
Masonry Stabilising Solution which is available in 5L bottles, seals chalky surfaces to ensure good adhesion. It is also pink in colour to aid easy application tracking and is quick drying.
Improved Interior Range
Tough Matt and Tough Silk are acrylic emulsions offering durability, stain resistance and covering power. Both are available in ready-mixed and tinted colours.
New Interior Range
New Vinyl Matt is thicker in viscosity, allowing decorators to dilute it to their liking and as required for their sprayers. Coverage is up to 16m2 per litre, and it can be applied in temperatures as low a 2°C. It offers an extended wet open edge time, giving more time to apply and providing a smooth, level finish. Vinyl Matt is available in 5L and 10L cans of Pure Brilliant White.
The range will be in stores from 17th October 2023.
