Crown boost mental health charities

Crown Paints has announced a new three-year charity partnership with leading mental health charities Mind and Mental Health Ireland.

The partnership will see the paint manufacturer raise awareness and funds for both charities while supporting internal wellbeing initiatives and external campaigns that promote better mental health across the painting and decorating industry in the UK and Ireland.

The announcement follows Crown Paints Ireland’s recent involvement in Mental Health Ireland’s national “Hello, How Are You?” campaign—an initiative that encourages people to connect through everyday conversations and check in on mental wellbeing. For Mind, Crown Paints began its fundraising efforts by hosting a charity golf day in May, raising awareness through team-building and friendly competition.

Matt Crossingham, Managing Director at Crown Paints, said: “Mental health touches every part of our lives – at home, at work and in our communities. These partnerships are about more than fundraising; they’re about helping to break down stigma, spark conversations and ensure our people feel supported, seen and safe.

“This is especially important to us as mental health concerns disproportionately impact tradespeople. Factors such as financial pressures, irregular workloads, and the isolating nature of the job contribute to these challenges. Through our partnerships with Mind and Mental Health Ireland, we aim to address these concerns by fostering greater awareness and providing access to mental health support for painters and decorators, ensuring they feel supported and valued within the industry.

“We’re looking forward to supporting Mind and Mental Health Ireland make a positive difference to people’s lives.”

Over the coming months, teams across Crown Paints will take part in further fundraising activities, awareness campaigns and volunteering opportunities, with colleagues encouraged to bring forward ideas and local initiatives they feel passionate about.
