OFF TO THE USA WITH PURDY
Purdy has announced painter and decorator Simon Walker as the winner of its Portland trip competition, held to celebrate the company’s 100-year anniversary. Simon will enjoy a seven-night, luxury stay in Oregon, visiting the Purdy factory to meet brushmakers and create his own custom brush.
Painters and decorators across the UK and Ireland were invited to explain why they wanted to visit Purdy’s home and what the trip would mean to them. Following many submissions, Simon Walker emerged as the standout winner.
“I am beyond thrilled to be visiting the Purdy factory“, said Simon. “I have spoken for years about making my own brush with my name on the sticker and now I am – I will probably frame it!”

It was important to us to shine a light on our Portland factory and the handcrafting qualities that go into making our brushes. We want to thank all those who entered.”
