Painting and Decorating Show 2026 set to bring innovation, skills and community together
The Painting and Decorating Show (PDS) returns in 2026 – and for the first time it’ll be held alongside InstallerSHOW at the NEC, Birmingham, from 23 to 25 June. PDS will once again offer an action-packed programme designed to bring the sector’s leading brands, skilled professionals and emerging talent under one roof.
Celebrating more than three decades as one of the UK’s key trade gatherings for painters and decorators, the show continues to evolve in response to changing industry priorities – from innovation in materials and sustainability to workforce development and the growing role of digital tools on site. Visitors can explore a wide range of products, services and solutions aimed at improving quality, productivity and business performance.
Some of the 2026 features include:
- Tools & Techniques – a hands-on demo area showcasing the very best from your favourite brands
- TradesTalk – a content theatre with inspiring and educational talks helping you grow your business
- Wallpaper Masters from Dulux
- INVENT – a section dedicated to innovative new product and solutions
A core focus for 2026 will be practical learning and skills development. Live demonstrations and technical showcases will give attendees the chance to see new tools, coatings and application techniques in action, while expert-led sessions will cover everything from surface preparation and finishing to health and safety best practice. With ongoing pressure on the construction workforce, training and attracting new entrants will remain high on the agenda, alongside discussions on how the sector can future-proof itself in a rapidly changing market.
Innovation and sustainability are also set to feature prominently across the show floor. Manufacturers are increasingly prioritising low-VOC products, durable finishes and efficient application systems that help reduce waste and improve environmental performance. Visitors will be able to engage directly with product developers and industry specialists to learn how new technologies can support both compliance and commercial success.
Beyond products and information, both PDS and InstallerSHOW are renowned for a strong sense of community – and with InstallerSHOW running at the same time, for the first time PDS visitors will be able to be part of the wider community of trades professionals and make the most of the many educational, networking and social activities that are taking place.
Whether attendees are looking to sharpen their technical skills, explore new business opportunities or simply reconnect with the wider decorating community, the 2026 edition is set to reinforce its reputation as a key date in the trade calendar.
