Dulux Trade for Happy Campers
Helping to bring a new lease of life to 20 guest chalets at Butlins’ Minehead resort, Dulux Trade has provided its high-performance Quick-Dry Opaque Woodstain for use across the exterior of the buildings.
The dark wooden chalets on Pacific Wharf were looking forlorn after so many years of exposure to the elements – with that in mind, Butlins wanted to update and refresh the look and feel of the chalets, in keeping with the colourful theme found throughout other areas of the resort.
Since the chalets were mostly timber clad, Butlins opted for Dulux Trade’s Quick Dry Opaque Woodstain in Storm Sea blue in order to protect the wood whilst also providing a long lasting and appealing aesthetic.
Combining a high performance solid colour with all the benefits of a premium quality woodstain, quick drying Dulux Trade’s Quick-Dry Opaque Woodstain delivers a highly flexible opaque finish that has high resistance to peeling, flaking and blistering.
Chris Bradly, Business Development Manager at AkzoNobel, said: “Butlins needed a woodstain solution that would deliver a long-lasting, appealing aesthetic, making the chalets not only look ‘healthier’ but also bring them in line with the look of other buildings around the resort. With that in mind, it was decided that Dulux’s Storm Sea blue colour would be suitable.
“Secondly, a product was required that would dry quickly, enabling Butlins to get the chalets back up and running again and ready to use by guests as soon as possible.”
