Crown’s charity partnership

Children with Cancer UK has a new ally this year after Crown Paints announced the charity as its official partner for 2017.

The UK paint company is supporting the leading national children’s charity, which is dedicated to research into finding cures for childhood cancers as well as providing support and care for the children, with a range of fund-raising events throughout the year.

These include an annual golf tournament, a summer fun day for employees, and, later in the year, a Christmas market and grand raffle.

Staff across the company’s Lancashire and Hull manufacturing sites, as well as its network of more than 130 Crown Decorating Centres located across the UK will be supporting the cause this year.

Francesca Borrelli, Corporate Account Manager at Children with Cancer UK said: “We are extremely excited to be working together and look forward to the year ahead.

“Sadly, cancer affects 4,000 children and young people a year – that’s over 70 children diagnosed every week.

“Research, improved treatments and support for children with cancer and their families are still much-needed and thanks to companies like Crown Paints we can continue with our life-saving work.”

The children’s charity was chosen after Crown Paints’ charity committee put out a staff vote to choose a partner to support for 2017.

Since it was created in 2010, the charity committee has raised more than £90,000 for Crown’s chosen causes.

Laura Gillet, head of Crown Paints charity committee, said: “This is an incredible charity doing an amazing job and one we are delighted to help.

“The stories of the children and their families are truly inspirational and we look forward to supporting the charity through a variety of fundraising events.”
