Andura Paint Fights Covid-19

Andura has published details of tests that the company say shows that its Titanium Anti-Microbial range reduces SARS COV 2 (the virus that causes Covid-19) on painted surfaces.

The figures show a reduction of 45.05% after 6 hours and 68.38% after 24 hours when compared to a control painted surface, when tested to ISO21702:2019.

Andura’s Titanium Anti-Microbial range has been developed to significantly reduce the growth of harmful bacteria. It offers long lasting effective protection, say Andura, against SARS COV 2, bacteria, fungi and moulds.

It is also proven to reduce MRSA – a type of bacteria that’s resistant to several widely used antibiotics – by 99.98% and E coli by 99.99%.

Said a company spokesperson; “Unlike ‘air-purifying’ paint, which is activated by sun-light and does not work inside without using a UV lamp, Titanium Anti-Microbial is effective regardless of where it is used. What’s more photo-activated anti-microbial paint coatings degrade over time, as the binder agent used gets destroyed by the reactions produced. This is not the case with Titanium Anti-Microbial which retains its outstanding durability whilst protecting surfaces.”
