PPG Golfers Are Valderrama Bound
Thirteen decorators are primed and ready play in this year’s PPG Golf Masters final in Valderrama in October.
PPG Architectural Coatings UK and Ireland, which manufactures paint brands Johnstone’s Trade and Leyland Trade, has run the invitational competition for the last eight years, with more than 700 decorators taking part this year alone.
Joining the twelve finalists this year, who all secured their places after triumphing in a series of regional heats held at prestigious courses across the UK, is last year’s reigning champion, Steve McLaren.
The finalists will all have the chance to live the life of seasoned golf pro and enjoy first class hospitality throughout the week of the final, held at the former Ryder Cup venue of Valderrama in southern Spain. Considered to be one of the best in Europe, Valderrama has played host to PPG’s Golf Masters final for several years and always creates memorable golfing moments.
During this year’s regional heats PPG ran a special Star Ball competition, which raised more than £5,000 for its chosen charity partner, When you Wish upon a Star. Competitors donated £10 for a souvenir star golf ball which was then used to play a longest drive competition during each regional final, with prizes for the winners.
