2019 Young Painter Search Kicks Off

Johnstone’s Trade Young Painter of the Year competition is once again taking place – giving seven trainees the chance to be crowned the 2019 winner.

This year is set to be bigger than ever and, as part of the 2019 competition, entrants will also have the opportunity to apply for Johnstone’s Trade’s new ambassador programme – a scheme developed to inspire young people to choose a career in the industry, as well as champion current students and trainees.

A series of regional finals will be held in various locations throughout the UK. A winner will be selected at each final, and will be awarded £200 plus a prize bundle of quality tools from leading suppliers, Runners-up from each regional final will receive a cash prize of £100. One competitor from each regional final will also be chosen to join in the ambassador scheme.

To qualify, entrants need to be aged 17-27 and currently studying towards an NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating or a Diploma in Construction Level 2, with students from Scotland required to be working towards an SVQ Level 3.
