Dulux goes large in Scunthorpe

The iconic Dulux dog has officially opened the new Dulux Decorator Centre store and Dulux Academy in Scunthorpe.

The newly relocated store is bigger than the previous location allowing customers to browse the range easier, access and parking is also more convenient for customers. The new purpose-built Dulux Academy training facility offers an opportunity for professional painters and decorators to access face-to-face industry-leading training courses, helping them improve and learn new skills.

Dulux Academy will allow professionals from the surrounding area to undertake training which is delivered by Dulux Academy Skills Development Consultants. The new facilities will offer a full range of Dulux Academy courses from professional application techniques like wallpapering and spraying, to building colour confidence.

In 2021 three Dulux Academy Dulux Decorator Centre locations were opened in Norwich, Altrincham and West Thurrock. With the success of these facilities, the store in Scunthorpe is to be one of several further Dulux Academy Dulux Decorator Centre partnership locations opening their doors in 2022.

Carly Pullar, Divisional Operations Director North for Dulux Decorator Centre:

“It’s fantastic to see the number of talented tradespeople in the local community and we’re delighted to be able to provide an ongoing source of support and advice for those within the industry.

“We are also delighted to be able to offer our customers face to face training in house with the new Dulux Academy facilities, supporting them in learning new techniques that will help to ensure they can offer a stand-out service to their clients.”

Dulux Academy Manager, Vickie Mather adds; “Since its conception, the Dulux Academy has offered the chance for painters and decorators to explore, expand and learn new skills. We’re so proud to be able offer our courses at Dulux Decorator Centre locations across the country, increasing the level of support we can give to the trade and local businesses in each area.”
