Johnstone’s Pride In Jane Austen

Johnstone’s Pride In Jane Austen.

With the help of Johnstone’s, the Grade II listed building where 19th century novelist Jane Austen spent her last days has been restored to its former glory.

Johnstone’s Pride In Jane AustenAfter the paintwork became weather-damaged and faded, SC4 Decorators were enlisted to repair and restore the exterior of the property, for which they used a rangeof Johnstone’s products.

For the building’s rendering, the SC4 decorators applied the Johnstone’s Stormshield Smooth Masonry paint in County Cream, to remain in keeping with the original colour of the property.

Stormshield Flexible Primer Undercoat, together with Flexible Gloss in French Lime, achieved an impressive finish for the door of the house.

Johnstone’s 2 Pack Primer was used to freshen up window frames and sills.

John Norton, director of decorating services at SC4, said: “At College Street, the use of Johnstone’s coatings will ensure the property’s exterior withstands the elements and that this memorial to Jane Austen remains a popular attraction for the many tourists who visit the area.”
