Painting and Decorating Association Salutes Top Decorators

Excellent workmanship across the painting and decorating industry was recognised at the prestigious annual Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) Premier Trophy Awards ceremony held recently at the historic Painters’ Hall in London.

A specialist panel of independent was responsible for assessing the entries for each category.

Winner of the Painting and Decorating Association Apprentice/Trainee of the Year was Thomas Regan of Accrington and Rossendale College. Runner-up was Rachel Cook, of Seddon Property Services.

Ian Williams Ltd took the Commercial Category Award with Crown Paints for work at the Moorland Garden Hotel in Devon, which included refurbishment, external cleaning, decoration and repairs whilst the hotel remained open.

Dumbreck Decorators’ work at St Andrews Cathedral in Glasgow with ICI Dulux Trade and Bernard Watson Decorators’ work at St Peter’s Church in Stonyhurst, Lancashire with Crown Paints, were announced joint winners of the Decorative Category.

The Painting and Decorating Association Industrial Category was won by E and P Painting Contractors Ltd, for the second year running, with International Paints, for work on storage vessels at Oikos Storage Ltd on Canvey Island, Essex.

The Painting and Decorating Association Small Contractors’ award was won by T & K Bourne and Sons Ltd with ICI Dulux Trade and Brewers for work at South Wing, Lullingstone Castle in Dartford, Kent.
CLC Contractors Ltd was awarded the Judges’ Special Award for Excellence – the Painting and Decorating Association’s Annual Premier Trophy Award.
