PPG does its bit for kids
PPG Architectural Coatings has raised almost £100,000 for a children’s charity through numerous fundraising initiatives undertaken by its staff over the last two years.
The company, which manufacturers paint brands Johnstone’s Trade and Leyland Trade, raised more than £52,000 in 2015 for When You Wish Upon a Star, which grants wishes to children suffering from life threatening illnesses. This adds to the total raised since PPG first partnered with the charity in 2014.
As a result the charity has been able to organise for children to have the chance to meet their heroes, visit Disney World in Florida, swim with dolphins and experience the trip of a lifetime to Lapland.
When You Wish Upon a Star has benefited from all the fundraising efforts by PPG throughout 2014 and 2015, including national exposure, particularly through its 190 Johnstone’s Decorating Centres across the UK and Ireland. Donations came from events such as the prestigious Johnstone’s Painter of the Year Awards and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley.
The charity grants wishes to children suffering from life threatening illness and relies solely on donations and monies raised from their supporters.
