PPG Fundraising for When You Wish Upon a Star

PPG Architectural Coatings’ fundraising for charity partner When You Wish Upon a Star has got off to a flying start in 2015.

The company, which manufactures paint brands Johnstone’s and Leyland, recently handed over a cheque worth more than £12,000 to the charity, which grants wishes to children suffering from life threatening illness.

PPG Fundraising for When You Wish Upon a StarThe charity was chosen in 2013 following an employee vote to become PPG’s partner in the UK and Ireland and is benefiting from a host of initiatives run by the company. This year has seen more than £2,500 raised at the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley, a raffle hosted to celebrate the Johnstone’s brand’s 125th anniversary, as well as a host of personal events undertaken by staff across the country to take the total soaring past the £12,000 mark.

Last year saw PPG donate nearly £45,000, which helped the charity grant wishes for numerous seriously ill children. This included an action-packed trip to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, which gave children a thrilling insight to the making of the Harry Potter films.

Liz Credgington, fundraiser for the charity, said: “We are extremely grateful for the continued support from PPG Architectural Coatings as this this allows us to bring fun to lives of families at a time when they need it most. Wishes are a chance to create precious memories, whatever the future may hold. We are looking forward to even more fundraising and some special anniversary events this year.”

The charity grants wishes to children suffering from life threatening illness and relies solely on donations and monies raised from their supporters.
