Bagnalls Blast From The Past

Graham Dodd PhotoBagnalls, the national painting and decorating contractors tell us that they were thrilled to receive an email this week from the other side of the world. An ex-Bagnalls apprentice sent them a thank you message for starting him off on his painting and decorating career path some fifty years ago.

Graham Dodd started his apprenticeship with Bagnalls in 1967, at the company’s Ellesmere Port office. He wrote:

Dear Sir, just the other day I found my deeds of Apprenticeship and would like to thank your company for setting me out on the right path for a career of over 50 years. I now live in Brisbane, Australia and had a contracting business for 26 years, working on new housing and display homes. I closed the business last Christmas to retire. I thought my story may be an inspiration for the young lads just starting out on their careers. Thanks again. Graham.”

Said a spokesperson for Bagnalls: “We think Graham’s story is an inspiration and testament to the benefits of starting life as an Apprentice. We hope Graham will be proud that Bagnalls are still committed to developing apprenticeships half a century later“.

Graham is in the UK in August and will be visiting the company’s Ellesmere Port Office where he started out.
