P&D Show to highlight Substandard Ladder danger

The Ladder Association has long advocated for the use of professionally
manufactured ladders that meet stringent safety standards.
But in today’s on-demand market, where in one-click you can order just about
anything you want online (and have it at your door the next day), how can
tradespeople be sure the ladders they’re buying online are made properly and are
safe to use?
This the theme of a must see presentation by the Ladder Association at this year’s
P&D Show (19th & 20th November, CBS Arena, Coventry).
This session, delivered in the Spotlight Theatres on both days of the show by
Francis Camilleri, Chair of the Ladder Association Technical Committee, and
Business Development Director at TB Davies (Cardiff) Ltd, will delve into latest
research from the Ladder Association about the real and serious issue of the
availability of substandard and potentially dangerous imported ladders on the UK
market. It will offer simple and practical advice on the steps decorators can take to
make sure they are buying safe and compliant equipment.
Francis is Chair of the Ladder Association’s technical committee. He joined the sales
team of Ladder Association member, TB Davies, in 1993 to manage their distributors
and volume end-users. Over the years, he has been responsible for the company’s
ecommerce strategy, market and product development, and engagement with trade
bodies, testing laboratories and suppliers to improve product designs with one aim –
to reduce accidents from climbing products when working at height to zero.
Full details and timings on the presentation together with the full Spotlight
programme will be available on the P&D Show web site shortly.
